The Building on Friar Street
The building on Friar Street has been through a lot. After it was built i1966 it became a
Fist Presbyterian Korean church. The building then became arehab center! It was also preschool/childcare center
for a time,  and now it is a school for middle and high schoolstudents named CALSTEAM.The building will be for sale in a few
months afterCALSTEAM is finished with it. There was a shooting in 2012 that occurred acrossthe
street from the Friar Street building. A man was struck through the left eyeand died. His body was
reportedly thrown into a dumpster. The shooter wasconvicted and put in jail. As you see, the
building on Friar Street has served manypurposes. (UPDATE by lagamer: The school was not sold and was part of
VIP/iLEAD NoHo after CALSTEAM/iLEAD Encino left.
